WIPCOL implements new protocols for patent security

July 5,

WIPCOL has implemented new protocols for patent security, which have been declared mandatory for all member law firms. Under the new protocols, the WIPCOL member law firms will be required to ensure their clients harmonize data privacy laws across all GLIPS member states and protect and empower the data privacy of citizens of the GLIPS Member states.

With an increase in our dependence over the internet in the past decade, it has become increasingly important to implement necessary security protocols. The cybersecurity vulnerabilities have rocketed sky high with an estimated $6 trillion to be spent on cybersecurity by 2021.

The WIPCOL Patent Security Protocol (WiPSeP) is a law to protect all GLIPS member states from privacy and data breaches in an increasingly data-driven world. Not only will the WiPSeP affect any organization located or doing business in the GLIPS member states, it will also impact organizations processing data of individuals, regardless of their geographic location. So, its reach is broad and it will apply to the processing of personal data by controllers and processors of GLIPS member states.,
